CIRCULAR SAW

Some believe that a circular saw can’t be used for fine woodworking. But this tool used with other measures can be just as accurate in cutting as a table saw is. Circular saws can come in handy when cutting plywood or fibreboard and when you’re on a budget, this saw should be the first tool you purchase. You can find lots of use out of it and will be a beneficial tool to have your arsenal.

POWER DRILL

This tool is one of the most versatile. You will want to pick out the proper drill bit depending on what material you will be using in your project. You could either get a cordless drill or a corded drill. Though the cordless drill is more portable, the corded drill can be more powerful. A corded drill is also less expensive. If you are a beginner and are just starting finding your way with tools, the corded drill may be the way to go.

JIGSAW

A jigsaw enables you to cut out curved and circular patterns. With a jigsaw, you will need to start with the correct blade. If you use a blade that is too wide or too thin, you won’t get your desired results. The Spruce Crafts suggest the blade sizes for each curve you want:

1/8-inch blade = 3/16-inch minimum radius cut
3/16-inch blade = 5/16-inch minimum radius cut
1/4-inch blade = 5/8-inch minimum radius cut
3/8-inch blade = 1-1/2 inch minimum radius cut
1/2-inch blade = 2-1/2 inch minimum radius cut
5/8-inch blade = 4-inch minimum radius cut
3/4-inch blade = 5-1/2 inch minimum radius cut
1-inch blade = 7-inch minimum radius cut

TABLE SAW

Once comfortable with the other beginner tools, a table saw should be your next step in power tools. This tool you should buy at the top of your budget. With a good table saw, your woodworking projects will be more successful. It can crosscut, square, dado, rabbet, apply shapes to edges, and rip. It is one of the most important tools to have when it comes to a woodworking shop. You need to make sure your saw is operating smoothly at all times or your projects may not have the best results. Make sure you are constantly tuning your table saw to ensure an easier cut.
